Helen Jamieson of Jaluch

Female Entrepreneurship-it could be the most exciting rollercoaster of your life!

Helen Jamieson is the CEO of Jaluch, an HR consultancy with local offices in London, Ringwood and Reading. Helen has an interesting background, studying for a degree in Arabic Studies and has lived in both Germany and Qatar. She has always worked in HR, selling her first consultancy ‘Quintox’ in 2001 before setting up Jaluch in 2002. She specialises in female entrepreneurship and is currently in the process of setting up a new business solely focused on leadership skills for women. Last year she joined an elite group of women, being appointed one of only 50 Female Entrepreneurship Ambassadors in the UK. As a result of her appointment, Helen is now available to speak to groups of women like the CLBC to raise awareness of the opportunities available to women setting up in business.

Helen will talk to us about some of her experiences as a female entrepreneur and the exciting but scary rollercoaster you are on when self employed. She will bring to the meeting the successes, challenges, dilemmas and ambitions of other female business owners.

Over the years Helen has gained  so much of her inspiration and support from other entrepreneurs so she appreciates exactly what we, the CLBC, offer its members. She is a member of the Women Presidents’ Organisation and once a year spends a week in the States with about 650 North American female business owners. Her business is WE Connect accredited which is an initiative to encourage supplier diversity in the corporates.

Helen has presented in numerous locations including the Institute of Directors in London, the Madjeski Stadium in Reading and HSBC in Canary Wharf. She will come to The Concorde Ladies Business Club to share some of her knowledge, experiences and enthusiasm about the world and excitement of entrepreneurship.

We are very fortunate to have Helen as a guest speaker so please book early and encourage other members and guests to attend. This is a great opportunity that should definitely not be missed. THURSDAY 26 JULY 2012

Chelsea Duke

Title ‘Life as a Lady Funeral Director

Chelsea Dukes is quite a remarkable lady. We first welcomed Chelsea to the CLBC as an author after she wrote her entertaining book ‘High Heels and a Head Torch: The Essential Guide for Girls who Backpack’. She took us on her journey and how she then struggled to get the book published. She was well received by the members so we have invited her back to talk about her career as a Funeral Director.

Chelsea has trained to become a female funeral director, once again pushing herself to the limits. She works for a family business in Winchester, taking on a role which we normally associate with men. She will discuss her experiences in this traditionally male dominated profession and highlight why things are changing.

We will hear about current trends and some of the situations Chelsea and her colleagues deal with on a daily basis. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about the funeral industry in general.

As an experienced speaker, Chelsea promises to enlighten us about her journey in this profession. If you were at Chelsea’s last talk then we are sure you will not want to miss this interesting subject.
